Our goal is to learn how to design proteins, in particular, enzymes so that we can generate tailor-made biomolecules that do useful things. We use a combination of computational models and (highly parallel, wherever possible) experimental characterization in Design-Build-Test-Learn cycles.

Areas of interest include biodegradation of pollutants, improving cancer chemotherapy, and designing catalytic protein drugs.
